Kaspersky reveals a scam exploiting the Palestinian conflict and people's desire to help to deceive the victims

Kaspersky Company has discovered cases of fraud exploiting the conflict in Palestine and taking advantage of people's willingness to help the victims.

Cybercriminals impersonate charitable individuals and deceive people with fake donations. They have sent over 500 fraudulent emails and created fake websites to facilitate their scams.

Charity fraud cases are common, and scammers often exploit disasters and emergencies to target victims. The conflict in Palestine is no exception, as fraudulent English-language emails targeting users have increased.

To avoid this type of fraud, internet users are advised to be cautious and take preventive measures to verify the credibility of recipients of their donations. Scammers use advanced social engineering techniques to attract victims and lure fake donations through fake websites and emails.

Fake messages vary in their use of language and expressions to attract victims, and links and sender addresses are constantly changed.

However, strong cybersecurity solutions can help prevent this type of fraud.

The links in these messages lead to fraudulent websites displaying images and encouraging donations in different cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Litecoin.

In addition, Kaspersky experts have discovered other fake web pages sharing the wallet addresses used by scammers, claiming to collect donations for various groups in the conflict-affected region.
