Don't install the latest Windows 10 update. The update crashes

We face challenges in terms of security and stability, but sometimes they can lead to more problems than solutions, despite the importance of keeping a device like our computer up to date. This is the case with the latest update for the Windows 10 operating system, specifically KB5031356, released on October 10 as a monthly control update. Users have reported an issue when installing it, showing an error due to a missing supposed system file. Fortunately, there is already a solution.

As users report the issue, as reported on the web support site, the update progresses as usual until it encounters a problem. This is where you can see the 8007000D error (ERROR_INVALID_DATA) in the update log, which is responsible for this specific issue.

Social media platforms have been flooded with messages reporting this error, and Microsoft has acknowledged it and provided several solutions. The first of them uses the Known Issue Rollback (KIR) system, which automatically applies a patch to this error. However, you should wait and attempt the update using Windows Update in the coming days.

While it's advisable to wait for the automatic solution that Microsoft will release, there are other ways to resolve it without going through the KIR system. However, you may risk losing your files, so waiting is necessary.
