Intel hints at a Windows "refresh" in 2024 amidst speculations about the launch of Windows 12

Intel is aiming to update the Windows operating system in 2024 with the goal of boosting its revenues. This matter was discussed during the global technology conference organized by the Citigroup Group last month.

David Zwirner, the Chief Financial Officer of Intel, pointed out that 2024 might be a promising year for customers due to the Windows system update. He explained that there is a need to update the system installation base due to the new release.

These statements come after leaked internal documents hinted at the existence of Intel's Windows 12 system. It appears that the company is preparing to launch the Meteor Lake platform for the next generation of Windows 12.

Intel has also announced Meteor Lake chips for mobile phones, which will be released in December along with an auxiliary processor for artificial intelligence. Meteor Lake is considered Intel's first central processing unit with different chips for each component and is manufactured using 4-nanometer technology.

Considering Microsoft's focus on artificial intelligence in its operating system, adding an auxiliary AI processor is crucial. Microsoft has already incorporated artificial intelligence features into Windows 11 through the AI assistant Copilot.

Indications suggest that Microsoft intends to integrate more artificial intelligence features into future versions of the Windows operating system, even though it has not officially announced Windows 12 yet. The head of consumer marketing at Microsoft's Consumer Division indicates that the company is exploring further integration of artificial intelligence into the user experience.

Furthermore, Microsoft has announced the addition of a dedicated neural processing unit to the Surface Laptop Studio 2, enhancing the Windows Studio Effects capabilities. These actions reflect Microsoft's direction towards a greater focus on artificial intelligence in its upcoming operating system in collaboration with hardware updates.
