ChatGPT is ceasing operation due to cyber DDoS attacks

OpenAI blames Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks for the disruptions affecting ChatGPT and developer tools.

ChatGPT has been experiencing frequent outages, with some users encountering error messages indicating non-responsive ChatGPT and difficulty logging in for others.

The company's CEO suggests that the high demand for new features during the developer conference could be the primary reason for ChatGPT interruptions. Despite attempts to address the issues, the disruptions persisted and impacted Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

The company announces that the interruptions are due to an unusual traffic pattern resembling DDoS attacks, clarifying that these attacks aim to disrupt and halt online services.

Additionally, the Anonymous Sudan group claims responsibility for the attack, accusing OpenAI of bias towards Israel against Palestine.
